Boxing Champion, Bash Ali detained in prison.
Nigeria's boxing champion, Bash Ali has been detained in Kuje prison over row with Nigerian Export – Import Bank (NEXIM). He was arrested last week thursday for allegedly disturbing the peace of the bank and threatening to blow up it's premises.

According to reports, he walked into the bank with 3 other men to query its manager on why the  bank has refused to pay the money  allocated to the hosting of the Guinness Book of World Record fight project even after getting a directive from the President.

The police arrived the scene, arrested them and charged them for causing nuisance and trespassing. Ali, while in prison revealed that the reason why the bank has not been interested in the case was because he declined the 10% bribe they asked for. "Now they are trying to silent me because I have decided to speak out and take action," he stated.

He also denied threatening to blow up the NEXIM office, "I never said I will bomb their office. If any institution owned by government disobeys the order of Mr. President because of corruption, that institution should be closed down. That is what I said."

He narrated his ordeal to Daily Times via a text message:

"The labour of our heroes shall not be in vain. I have been in Kuje Prison since Thursday without food and with tough criminals because I said 'No' to corruption at a Bank. My court case is March 5. A revolution has started. Champ Bash Ali, OON."

"The Executive Director, Customer Services, of the bank invited me on Wednesday, but to my shock, he was not there, so he told me to wait.

"While waiting, the Managing Director of the Bank, came and ordered the security to beat us. The head of one of the LOC members of Bash Ali Guinness Book of World Records fight, was broken. It was from there we were taken to SARS and detained and now I'm at Kuje Prison."

Jonathan finally reveals when Boko Haram leader Shekau will be arrested
President Goodluck Jonathan has said that  Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, will be caught by the military before the election starting March 28. Mr.President said this while speaking with ThisDay on Friday.

Jonathan also admitted during the interview that even though  Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa, its military strength wasn't commensurate with that position.
"Concerning the military strength being not at par to that of Nigeria's economic development, there are some countries that don't have powerful military. I don't think Switzerland has a very powerful military. There are some countries that were even doing away with their military until this issue of terror, and now some of them are reconsidering.

"What happened in Nigeria is that after the civil war we had no reasons to buy sophisticated weapons. Since after the civil war, all what we have been doing is peace keeping, apart from stabilising Liberia and Sierra Leone, where our soldiers really fought war to stabilise those countries.

"Back home, we were at peace with our neighbours. It is now that we are witnessing Boko Haram that we see that fighting them is not what we do with AK 47, and now we have to look for money. I totally agree with you, if Brazil can manufacture commercial helicopter, what stops us from going into manufacturing."

"Recently, we wanted to buy tear-gas from a country and they were bragging and saying that Nigeria has human rights abuse issues. I kept wondering what is tear-gas? I vowed that God willing if I return, Nigeria must produce tear-gas.

"What is the technology of producing tear-gas for God's sake? What is the technology of producing APCs and armoured tanks? I agree with you that in terms of manufacturing, we must and we have no choice than to get into it as a nation. That is why we are emphasising about local content in production; that you can witness in the automobile industry which has come back."

"Just last week a company that bought over the machine tools in Osogbo came to show the bullet proof vest that they produced and I asked them, can't you produce weapons and they claimed that they can manufacture weapons if they could be patronised and there is a guarantor.

"Yes we have our own DICON, but DICON alone cannot produce all our weaponry. We must have more than two, three companies in a big country like Nigeria.

"I told the company that immediately after the elections, if I'll be here for the next four years, before they start going for weapons, all the tear-gas that we'll use in Nigeria, will have to be produced in Nigeria,"he said.

Read President Jonathan's reaction to the recent Boko Haram bombings
Read the official press release from the office of President Jonathan:
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan condemns the reversion by the terrorist group, Boko Haram to the callous bombing of soft targets in parts of Nigeria in the wake of the ongoing rapid recovery by gallant Nigerian troops and their multinational allies of areas formerly controlled by the sect. President Jonathan commiserates with all families who have lost loved ones in the bombings which continued today with attacks on Kano and Potiskum.

The President shares the grief of all the bereaved families and is deeply saddened by the continued loss of many innocent lives at the hands of misguided and desperate fanatics who are now feeling the heat of the intense counter –insurgency operation by the Nigerian Armed Forces. The President assures all Nigerians and the people of the North-Eastern states in particular that the days of mourning victims of incessant terrorist attacks in the country will soon be over as the tide has now definitely turned against Boko Haram.

President Jonathan further assures the people of Nigeria that the gallant, courageous and patriotic officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, supported with new platforms, equipment and logistics provided by the Federal Government will carry the ongoing operations against the terrorists through to a successful conclusion in the shortest possible time. He affirms that his administration will continue to take all necessary action to guarantee the success of ongoing military operations against the terrorist group and drastically reduce its ability to take and hold territory or recruit, groom and brainwash young persons to undertake suicide bombing attacks on soft targets.

Charles Inojie, Helen Paul dazzle in Mr Potosky
Versatile comedy actor, Charles Inojie, and Helen Paul have dazzled in a new blockbuster movie, Mr Potosky. Produced from the stables of De-Kross Movie Productions, Mr Potosky has been tipped to set a new pace in Nollywood.
The multi-million naira film, directed by Amayo Uzo-Philip, also stars Bishop Imeh and Chike Anyawu among others. It will be officially released on Friday, 27 February
Christopher Ozoemena, the Chief Executive Officer of De-Kross Movie Productions, who produced the movie, assured that Mr Potosky will surpass the sheer success recorded by many of his previous movies.
Ozoemena, who has produced multiple award-winning movies like Total War, Caught in the Act, Beauty and the Beast, The Maidens, The Kingdom and Aki the Blind, said he has shot glamorous and serious stories in the past, but decided to wow movie buffs with something more soothing this time around.
"So, I had to get those who know how to act comedy that has direction and moral lesson because I always want people to learn after watching my films. I got wonderful actors, director and technical crew who did a great job on this movie," he reiterated.
The film is reaching out to families who don't teach their wards good morals. Potosky, played by Charles Inojie, is a cook to a Senator. The Senator has a problem with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and he was arrested. Then Potosky, who thought the Senator would never return, went to his village with his master's money, cars, clothes and other valuables.
Potosky started deceiving girls in the village to the extent that parents were forcing their female children to seduce him, and he eventually impregnated many of them. He also duped some of them financially by the time he was broke.
"The message of the film is for people to believe in themselves and be contented with what God has given them. People should not be carried away with material things –don't judge people by the cars they drive or the clothes they wear," Ozoemena, popularly known as De-Kross stated.

Bloomberg editorial: Europe's Crisis Averted (Until Monday)

With their tentative agreement on financial aid for Greece, the euro zone's finance ministers have paused a drama that could still end in disaster and that should never have happened in the first place. The deal outlined on Friday won't be concluded until next week, and could still fall apart, but Friday's talks are being seen as a breakthrough.

With luck, the deal will stick. Whether it sticks or not, the European Union needs to study the shambles of the past few weeks and resolve never to repeat it.

From:  (Ololade Olatunji)

"Fayose is obsessed with Buhari"- BSO
The obsession here is a sharp contrast to the one we are all used to. The obsession The Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) is actually talking about is the negative type.

Director of Media and Information Technology of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe has reacted to Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose's claim that Buhari is medically unfit to rule Nigeria.

He said:‎ "The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, is suffering from what we call in medicine obsessive compulsive disorder, based on an appetite and a wish to see General Muhammadu Buhari dead.

"He is a psychopath, whose obsession has altered his sense of rational analysis of situations whenever he hears the name, Buhari. Unfortunately, he is not God and does not have control of the life of our revered General.

"Fayose should go back home and prepare to defend himself in the case of the massive rigging that led to the stolen mandate he currently enjoys and leave our general‎ alone".

fwdd The intriguing story of a 10 year-old Nigerian admitted into a UK university.

From:  (Ololade Olatunji)

The intriguing story of a 10 year-old Nigerian admitted into a UK university.
This is one of the most intriguing stories I have read in recent times. A 10 yr old Nigerian girl admitted into UK University to study Advanced Maths? Genius just got a new definition.

Here's the full report from Mail Online.

Esther Okade, from Walsall, West Midlands, has enrolled on an Open University course months after she passed her A-levels – and wants to study for a PhD before running her own bank.

The girl, who gained a C grade in her maths GCSE aged six, has joined the course which started this month. Her younger brother Isiah is already studying for his A-levels – also aged six.

The siblings are both home-schooled by their mother Omonefe, who has converted the living room of their semi-detached, three-bedroom house into a makeshift classroom.

Mathematician Mrs Okade, 37, said:

'Esther is doing so well. She took a test recently and scored 100 per cent. Applying to the university was an interesting process because of her age.

'We even had to talk to the vice-chancellor. After they interviewed her they realised that this has been her idea from the beginning. From the age of seven Esther has wanted to go to university.

'But I was afraid it was too soon. She would say, "Mum, when am I starting?", and go on and on and on. Finally, after three years she told me, "Mum, I think it is about time I started university now".'

She said: 'For now we want her to enjoy her childhood as well as her maths. By the time she was four I had taught her the alphabet, her numbers, and how to add, subtract, multiply and division.

'I saw that she loved patterns so developed a way of using that to teach her new things. I thought I would try her with algebra, and she loved it more than anything.'

Esther stunned her parents last year when she achieved a B grade in her pure maths A-level. She applied to the Open University last August – and after a phone interview an essay and an exam, she was told in December that she had been accepted onto the course.

Her father Paul, 42, a managing director, added: 'I cannot tell you how happy and proud I am as a father. The desire of every parent is to see their children exceed them, and take the family name to great heights, and my children have done just that.'

Speed at Impact ... 38 MPH

EXCLUSIVE
0224_bruce_jenner_crash_splash
Bruce Jenner was travelling at 38 miles an hour when he struck the Lexus on Pacific Coast Highway earlier this month ... according to data retrieved from his SUV.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the Sensing Diagnostic Module (data recorder) shows Bruce was travelling between 46 and 47 MPH when he slammed on his brakes.  Our sources say impact occurred almost immediately after braking.
That would mean Bruce must not have seen the cars backed up at the light until the very last second, which could explain how he had a cigarette casually placed in his hand as the cars collided.
TMZ broke the story ... an MTA bus captured the entire crash, showing Bruce's SUV hitting the Lexus, which went into oncoming traffic and struck a Hummer, killing the Lexus driver.  Bruce then hit the Prius that was in front of the Lexus.
We're told the entire accident occurred in less than 3 seconds.

Messi and coach Luis Enrique haven't been on talking terms for 7 weeks

According to reports, the spat between Barca playmaker, Lionel Messi and coach Luis Enrique is yet to be resolved. The feud started after the Blaugrana's loss to Real Sociedad several weeks back. The Argentine attacker was so angry with the coach for introducing him at half time that he refused to turn up for training the following da‎y.

Barca's heavy defeat to Malaga during the weekend seems to have worsened matters. Spanish newspaper reports that Enrique hasn't spoken to his players after it. His relationship with Messi hasn't been better as both parties have reportedly not spoken to each other for 7 weeks.

Luis F. Rojo of marca.com writes,

"It is a fact that the Barcelona manager is not very keen on talking to his players after a match, but the Málaga game was out of the ordinary. And as he did not speak with the players, he did not speak to Leo Messi, as in any case they have not spoken for some time. In fact, not since the defeat against Real Sociedad at Anoeta when they became estranged. Since then their relationship has been non-existent. The situation has been helped by a run of good results, but now Barcelona have lost again it remains to be seen what will happen.

Nemesis will catch up with those behind my fake social media accounts- Obasanjo
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has asked Nigerians to disregard any news coming from fake twitter and Facebook accounts opened in his name.

The elder statesman said this while reacting to a story posted on his fake twitter account on Sunday. The post reads;

"Fani-Kayode is a democracy wrecker, who's very fluent in stupidity. Give him food, and he will sing and do "shoki" dance for you."

The ex military head of state added that his real social media accounts have been blocked.

"I don't know where this comes from. I don't have any account on either the Facebook or Twitter again. Go and block it."

Let me say that, nemesis will catch up with anyone doing this. It is illegal and criminal. If I have to pass any message to the good people of Nigeria, I know how to go about it with no controversy."‎ He concluded.

Ex-Dolphins Player -- Dramatic 1st Video ... Moments After 9-Mile Swim
Here is the dramatic first video of ex-Miami Dolphins player Rob Konrad -- shot moments after he made contact with police ... following a fishing boat accident which forced him to swim 9 death-defying miles to shore.
The footage -- shot from multiple cameras inside a police cruiser -- was shot around 5AM on January 8th in Palm Beach, FL ... after Konrad fell off his fishing boat and spent the next 16 hours swimming for his life.
When Konrad reached land, he rang the doorbell of an oceanfront home ... and cops responded immediately.
The cops were very accommodating -- grabbing blankets, water and helping Konrad make calls to loved ones so they knew he was OK.
Konrad was later hospitalized for dehydration and hypothermia ... but was eventually released.
During a news conference the following week, Konrad said he kept thinking about his family during the swim ... and that's what gave him the strength to keep going.
