Man has hand hacked off by jihadists after being accused of stealing

From the images, the blindfolded victim is forced to sit in a chair in the centre of the square, where he is held in place by one of the jihadists, while two others use a large meat cleaver to brutally sever his hand from his arm

Several sickening images of a young man's hand being hacked off after he was accused of stealing has been released by militants fighting for the Islamic State in Syria.

Daily Mail reports that the images may have been taken in the terror group's de facto capital Raqqa, and it shows the terrified young man being dragged out onto a public square in front of a bloodthirsty crowd.

From the images, the blindfolded victim is forced to sit in a chair in the centre of the square, where he is held in place by one of the jihadists, while two others use a large meat cleaver to brutally sever his hand from his arm.

The horrific images were shared on the Twitter page of the local activist group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, who work undercover in the city to expose the atrocities committed by ISIS.

It was gathered that the four photographs which are high quality shots and carry the distinctive yellow branding of ISIS' Al-Hayat Media Center, suggesting they may be stills from an as-yet unreleased propaganda video.

The first image shows the blindfold and baseball cap-wearing victim being led from a vehicle by three heavily armed Islamic State terrorists, one of whom appears to be no older than 16.

Another shot captures a bearded cleric appearing to read charges against the man - using a microphone and PA system to tell the crowd of sadistic onlookers that the man is accused of stealing.

The victim is then seen pinned in a chair by a separate group of men, one of whom uses a chord to pull his arm taut while two others place a heavy meat cleaver on the top of his wrist, ready to strike.

A final image shows the victim lying on his back in agony on a metal gurney while a man who appears to be a surgeon tends to the injury on his left hand.

Short Story: !!!! Red Rage | By: Damore Ali

From:  (Ololade Olatunji)

Short Story: Red Rage | By: Damore Ali

He came home last night. He had been away for a month, leaving me and the kids without a dime. I didn't know whether to be angry, or happy as I heard him pull into the compound.

I had been thoroughly worried about him the past days, calling and texting him without response. I feared something might have happened to him. What will I have done? Where will I have gone? He would have made the trouble much bearable if he had told me where he was going in that note he stuck to the Fridge before leaving that Sunday evening… but then, it didn't matter.

He was home. I hurried to the kitchen to rustle up something for him to eat. That's a wife's duty after all, to cater for the husband in good and bad times.

In thirty minutes, the table was set yet he hadn't come upstairs. I looked through the window by the dinning room to find him seated in his car in a relaxed mood, holding his phone to his ear, laughing so gaily about something only he knew. A laughter I hadn't heard in a long while. I strained my ears to pick his voice over the generators loud hum…

'Mama, iyen o ki n se problem na. Ma to pada wa, e ma wori.'

Mama? I felt a tear drop from my weary eyes. He had been with his mother all this while? Yet she gave me no clue all those lonely nights I called to seek her advice? What responsible mother allows her son leave his own home, wife and kids, to suckle from her sagging breasts after every long day at work for a whole month? He had come in now, his presence dusted with whiffs of alcohol. I shook my tears back and played the nice wife… for a few seconds.

'Ekaabo.'

'Ekule o. Where are my kids?'
he settled in the dinning area.

I turned to the wall-clock, it was 11:00pm and he was asking where his kids were? I chose to ignore the question. If he cared, he would have been home the past days instead.

'I made you Eba and Efo.' I said in reply, and turned to get him some water to wash his hands with before he asked any other stupid question.

Soon after, he had finished the food and appreciated me with a loud belch and stinking fart which both happened fast, that I wasn't sure which came first. I swallowed it all and just mused on how a man I loved and adored so much had now turned to the insensitive bastard I could only manage to harbour.

The atmosphere was laden with so much hurt and anger and hunger too. I was hungry, I hadn't had a proper meal in a long while because he didn't leave any money and I was saving the remaining soup that I warmed that evening, for his return. I deserved some explanation, I thought, so I broke the ice.

'Where did you go 'Laitan?'‎

He stopped fiddling with his phone and spared me an accusatory look.

'What do you mean by where did I go? Work, of course!'
he spat.

'Olaitan, you went to work for almost a whole month, from Sunday evening up until this Friday evening. You didn't call, you didn't text, you didn't reply my calls or texts, you didn't leave any money and you know I don't have a job to cater to myself and the kids. Olaitan, Olaitan… is this life?'

'Don't start o, this woman! Let me breathe please, 've only just returned.'‎

Tears poured down my face and my empty stomach started to wail too. It was too much to take in all at once. That was what I got for worrying over and about him for a month, in his conscious absence.

'Olaitan, you make me cry everyday and I can't but wish you the same kind of pain you make me feel. Olaitan, I am hungry. I haven't had a proper meal all this time, and you know I am a nursing mother. Bolu is just 2 months old, have you forgotten? Olaitan, your children missed you. They cried to sleep every night because you were nowhere close to throw them into the air after a long day. Olaitan…'
I racked in sobs, as my voice trailed off but he just sat there wearing a stone cold face after which he stood up angrily and made to get his car keys. I crawled after him, holding on to his legs.

'Olaitan Oribogunje, you are not leaving this house without me and my children!'
I screamed a little too loud.

'Bukunmi! Bukunmi leave my leg. Bukunmi leave me o.'
he dragged himself on, pulling my fragile frame with him but I didn't let go still.

Toke had woken up now and was staring in horror. She cried, but I didn't know if she was mourning her lost sleep or sad for me. Either way, I shared her pain.

'Do your worst 'Laitan! Do your bloody worst but you're not leaving this house without us!'
I yelled. What more pain could he possibly inflict on me? I was numbed by weariness, too tired to feel anything more. Then he started to punch me and drag me by the hair, slapping me everywhere he could lay his palms on. I screamed to the neighbours 'hhe…elp me! Help me from this bloody bastard I call a husband! Egba miii o!!'

'Daddddyyyy! Daadddddyyyy!'
Toke's screams tore at my heart and that seemed to strengthen me because only then did I start to fight back. I ran to the kitchen to grab a knife and threatened him with it. The neighbours had begun to knock on our door now but we were too absorbed in our own little world to care.

'You'll either kill me today or come back to your senses!'
I spat breathlessly, burning with red rage pent up from too many past years. He carried a chair and made to fling it at me, while I raised the knife in readiness awaiting his strike. That was when Toke made for the door in one swift movement because her eyes couldn't take it anymore and like a flash before my very own eyes, she fell to the ground in a pool of blood.

Everything went stark quiet in that second. I dropped the knife quickly, and raced to my child.

'Toke! Toke mi! Akanke! Toke!' she wouldn't respond. By then, Olaitan had already walked out of the house and started his car downstairs. Afraid, guilty, or ashamed, I couldn't care why he left. The neighbours poured in now like flood, running here and there trying to revive her. But I knew she was gone, because the instant I held her, I knew she saved that last gaze for me, telling me to be strong. I wailed in my head, but I didn't have the power to cry out.

That was a second or so ago.

I am too tired now. My soul retires. But before I slump to the ground I note that time has well passed. It is 12:00am and it is Valentines.

_
'Mama, iyen o ki n se problem na. Ma to pada wa, e ma wori.'
– Mama, that is no problem at all. I will soon be back, don't worry about it.

'Egba mi o!'
- Please help me!‎

'Ekaabo'
- Welcome

'Ekule'- Response to welcome.‎

Nurse narrates s how her security guard connived with robbers to attack her home

Nurse narrates how her security guard connived with robbers to attack her home
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command is currently investigating a case of how a man simply identified as Tunde, the security guard of Nurse Ukamaka Onyeka,( pictured above) invited armed robbers to attack her home in the Ago area of Lagos state.

Narrating her ordeal to Sun News, Onyeka said;
"On the fateful day, my husband traveled out of Lagos, leaving me, my children, house-help and our security guard.  I went to work and returned late at night. When I drove into our compound, I did not expect that armed robbers were at our security post.  We have a dog but it did not bark. Immediately, I alighted from my car and entered my room, two men armed with knife and cutlass pounced on me and warned that I must co-operate with them as two others armed with guns were keeping watch at our gate. They pushed me down, tied my hands and legs with rope.
They also forced clothes inside my mouth.  After covering my mouth with clothes, they now ordered me to show them where I kept money in the house. One of them placed a knife on my throat, threatening to slash it if I failed to co-operate. When I saw that they meant business, I now showed  them where I kept a N100,000 which they collected.  The money was for my school fees. After collecting the money, I thought they would go. They also collected laptops, jewellery, wristwatch and mobile phones. They commanded me to take them to my husband's room. In the room, out of fear, I still pointed to them the wardrobe where my husband kept money, they opened it and collected the money in his box. The hoodlums, after collecting the money, still stabbed me on the neck.  They locked me in the room in the pool of my own blood.  I  bled for about 20 minutes. Why I strongly suspect my guard was that while the robbery was going on, the hoodlums were calling his names.  He was also busy patrolling from one room to the other without the robbers hurting him or even cautioning him.  At a point, he came inside the room where I was tied and told the armed men not to kill me. After the attack, my guard left in company with the robbers, but later resurfaced.  I now accused him of inviting the robbers. Moreso, during and after the attack, our dog did not bark and I later discovered that Tunde had locked it inside the cage. As I went to report at the Ago police station, Tunde fled from the premises. When the police came, I discovered that the knife that used on me was my kitchen knife which Tunde collected from me to peel oranges. The rope they used in tying me is also the one he was using to hang his clothes. The pillow case they stuffed in my mouth also belonged to him," she said.
Tunde is said to have confessed to committing the crime.

Cristiano Ronaldo named the world's wealthiest footballer. See Goal Rich list 2015.
Cristiano Ronaldo has for the second time cemented his status as the world's wealthiest current footballer, according to the Goal Rich List 2015.  His  net worth- is €210m.

The Rich List, compiled by Goal.com, the world's largest digital football brand, sees the Real Madrid superstar beat off the challenge from Barcelona rival Lionel Messi, with Ronaldo's estimated wealth now running at €210 million.

It is a further indicator to Ronaldo's current standing in the game, having last season won the Champions League, a success that ultimately saw him crowned 2014 Ballon d'Or winner.

While Messi is second on the Rich List, the gap between him and Ronaldo has increased slightly over the past year, though both remain firmly ahead of the pack, with another La Liga star, Barcelona's Neymar, the best of the rest in third place having been listed sixth just 12 months ago.

The major European leagues are well represented, though there is also a significant contingent from those who are forging new careers in the USA, led by Brazilian superstar Kaka.

Though still playing at the highest level for club and country, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon drops out of the Rich List Top 10, as does Arsenal great Thierry Henry having announced his retirement from the game and excluding himself from consideration.

Replacing them in the 2015 table are: Real Madrid legend Raul, now with New York Cosmos appears at eight in the Rich List, while Chelsea great Frank Lampard, currently with English champions Manchester City but who will move to New York City at the end of this season, is placed at No10.

The Goal Rich List is collated by a team of analysts and takes into account all streams of revenue for active footballers over the course of their careers.

Only current professionals are eligible with the earnings of more than 200 contenders assessed before Goal's experts finalised on their selection.

Commenting on the announcement of the Goal Rich List 2015, Graham Shaw, Editorial Director of Goal.com, said; "Ronaldo and Messi are the two best footballers in the world currently and their fortunes now put them up with the top names in cinema and music. These levels are entirely warranted because these players are global entertainers.

"This year's comprehensive list will again provide real talking points for Goal's userbase of football followers worldwide."

From: (Ololade Olatunji)

AIT replies Tinubu's lawsuit threat, demands apology&N100 billion In damages.
‎It's (un) officially the season of lawsuits in Nigeria. The latest plaintiff being renowned media outfit, Daar Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and defendant, ex Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The lawsuit is coming few days after the APC chieftain threatened to sue DAAR Communications in tune of N200bn for damages for airing a documentary titled  "Unmasking the real Tinubu".

AIT has also demanded apology&N100 billion In damages.

"Daar Communications Plc has reacted and rejected in their entirety the demands of Tunji Abayomi and co on behalf of Bola Tinubu over a documentary titled "Unmasking The Real Tinubu" transmitted on African Independent Television, AIT, according to a publication on its website.

The demands, which Mike Ozekhome's chambers describe as laughable, include the stoppage of further transmission of the alleged defamatory documentary, failure which Daar communications will be made to pay twenty billion Naira representing damages.

In its reaction, Mike Ozekhome's chambers on behalf of DAAR communications declares that AIT, in transmitting the documentary was only carrying out its constitutional responsibility to uphold the fundamental objectives of the constitution.

It states further that the documentary merely stated that Bola Tinubu generally breached various portions of the Nigerian constitution.

DAAR communications plc is therefore demanding a complete withdrawal of the letter under reference, which must be given wide publicity as that accorded the letter from the chambers of Tunji Abayomi.
The media company demands an apology to be published in at least four leading national newspapers and four television stations, which must include NTA, Channels and AIT.

The sum of one hundred billion Naira representing aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages for the irreparable injury inflicted on AIT is also being demanded.‎"

Pics: US Ambassador to south korea attacked

The US ambassador to South Korea has been attacked by a knife-wielding man shouting anti-war slogans during a public event at an arts centre in Seoul.
The ambassador, Mark Lippert, was assaulted during a breakfast conference on Thursday as he was preparing to give a lecture about prospects for peace on the divided Korean Peninsula.
The US embassy said Lippert was in stable condition after surgery at a Seoul hospital. Hours after the attack Lippert tweeted that he is "doing well and in great spirits".

The suspect, identified by police as Kim Ki-jong, 55, was immediately apprehended at the scene. Police said he slashed Lippert on the face and wrist with a knife. Kim had a previous conviction for hurling a stone at the then Japanese ambassador to Seoul in 2010, police said.
"We have detained him and are investigating the cause of the attack and other circumstances," said district police chief Yoon Myung-soon.
Sources told Al Jazeera that Kim is the head of a relatively small civic organisation that has been calling for peace and reconciliation with North Korea.
According to witnesses, he repeatedly shouted "No drills for war." He was apparently referring to the ongoing large-scale South Korea-US military exercise, which occurs every year around this time.
Anti-US protesters in Seoul have recently demonstrated against the drills that North Korea says are preparation for an invasion. Seoul and Washington say the exercises, which will run until the end of April, are defensive and routine.
On Monday, the first day of this year's drills, North Korea test-fired short range missiles in reaction to the exercises.
